NAIDOC Competition – Humpy / Gunya / Hut Building
Looking for an activity that will actually test your team beyond the usual icebreakers and forced small talk? This challenge is designed to put communication, problem solving, creative thinking, teamwork, leadership, and adaptability to work in a hands-on environment.
The Humpy / Gunya / Hut Building Competition invites organisations to step outside, work together, and create something practical using the resources and materials provided on site. Inspired by traditional shelter-building practices, this event is designed to encourage collaboration, shared decision-making, and a deeper appreciation for resourcefulness, culture, and collective effort.
This is not just a team-building activity where everyone stands around pretending to contribute while one poor bastard does all the work. It is an active, high-participation challenge that requires teams to think, communicate, and build together.
If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch via email at admin@youthledservices.com.au.

We hold heart for the injustices to Country through invasion and understand that the trauma is embedded into the depth of the spirits. We also acknowledge the resilience and strength of First Nation peoples show true warrior spirit.
First Nations people have worked and walked in two worlds successful for centuries, and have been able to maintain cultural practices through cultural genocide and provide support and leaning for our non-Indigenous peoples in Australia. We extend our acknowledgement to First Peoples around the world, holding space in our hearts for the injustices of invasion that have been experienced by many of our Indigenous brothers and sisters.
We have heart, spirit and ancestors that guide us through our journey, we will walk this path remembering the footprints before us and creating space for the ones that will walk after us.
